Lamberto AzziDeltagerHello all,
According to DMI, the wind will be generally from East (from NE to SE variable around 10-15 knots) all this week and, even if not strong, we may have poor visibility in the north coast, at least between Gilleleje and Helsingør… without mentioning the Øresund…
Suggestions/comments??
To move the start point to Korsør may be one option but we would like to hear your opinions before taking a drastic move.
Also, in Helsingør we have the jollehus in the sailing club for Saturday’s barbecue and prize-ceremony, while in Korsør we have no place so it should be more wild-style.Ciao!!

Lamberto AzziDeltagerYes.
The winds are named from the direction they came from so is the same wind 😉 we are speaking about.
In Hundested can be ok but we have at least 20 people to accommodate in that area: will it be enough space for everybody?
If the visibility is practicable from Gilleleje/Solrød Strand till Hundested then maybe is fine for 10 or more teams….
We would prefer to stay in Helsingør if possible so we have more logistic support but we would also to hear the participants: this competition is for having fun and good-time!! 🙂

Christian ToppDeltagerI vote for moving the start point to the vest….
Are there nobody here who is a member of a diving club, that has a clubhouse we maybe can use as a base?

Yup, Lamberto is right – even in Danish we name the winds by the direction they are are coming from.
So, the winds are easterlies (østenvinde) these days 😉Currents are the other way around where we most-often name them by where they are heading as in “nordgående”.

Christian ToppDeltagerWe also have to think about the inexperienced… If some of the new spearos are not used to night fishing, that can be tough enough for them, if you add poor visibility, it is not much fun for a rookie and also mentally very demanding.
In Langeland cup, that also used the mixed experience team model … I was teamed up with a rookie, that could not handle the poor visibility and he had to leave the water after less than an hour and he never came back in..

Peter LundDeltagerAs it looks now the stretch from Gilleleje to Hundested will be fine, that is 30-35 km of coastline i think that should be more than enough space for everyone. And the Wind might be that slow that it makes no differens on the Helsingør-Gilleleje part aswell.
i wote for Helsingør

Lamberto AzziDeltagerI would also add the “from” factor…
If most of the participants are coming from Copenhagen area or west Sjælland than is make no much sense to move all the troop to the East coast.

JesperDeltagerThe strecht from Gilleleje to Hundested is not much for that many guys. You have to have the opportunity to move around if one place dont fish well. Perhaps there is 30-35 km. of coastline, but it will be the same 8-10 spots that will be used for hunting.Last year the strecth from Hundested to Gilleleje was not good, så we were many who needet to split the area from Gilleleje to Rungsted. At one momen there were 5-6 guys at the same spot – not good.
I vote for moving the competition if the wind at Friday seems to bad for the North coast. But i dont think we should make the decision yet. The weather can stille change. It is much more fun if you have good visibility. So at the moment – move the start point.

martin greveDeltagerFollowing the wather forecast it looks a bit crappy for the north/east coast. But if we move it to the West coast there is the problem with a base. so there is for and against both solutions. But as we gonna spend most of the time below water the visibility, in my opinion must count for the most, and I think that doing a bit of recon will be time well spend.
as I’m still quit new to the game, getting to see and shoot some fishies would make the evening a lot more fun.but the conditions are of course the same for every participant no matter the location.

Lamberto AzziDeltagerHi.
Does anybody know the Højbjerg lejrplads in Korsør?
There should be 4 shelters that can accommodate 24 people and some large place for bonefire.
I have booked for Friday/Saturday but i would like to know how it is before confirming it… and before changing location!
If you have been there and know the place maybe you can call me on 28877344 for more details?
Ciao!

JesperDeltagerIs it tomorrow you decide where the start point will be? I think it would be good to know so I can make af plan for the hunting 🙂

Lamberto AzziDeltagerI have been diving yesterday in the area: is not super good visibility but perfectly ok for competition!
6 species in 2 hours and ~5 Kg fish = 10500 points in less than 2 hours and on one single spot. There where other 2 species around but in small size and i didn’t shot the second fish… there is a lot of points down there :woohoo:
So the competition start-point stay in Helsingør.
This year anyway there is not scaling of fish at 6AM… so there is plenty of time for the most adventurous guys to drive to Sjælland’s west coast and then drive back in time for weighting.
See you on Friday!!
