Saturday 9th of November was not a nice and warm evening, water around 8 degree and together with Topper we headed toward the City for some torsk…

Lot of ~1 kg and few decent torsk specimens around 2 kg where in sight but along with the usual curious havørred came this mullet, definitely out of place!

The havørred is a 3,65Kg and the mullet 2,2Kg.

In the oven anyway he deflated completely, with a meat that was absolutely jelly and without any consistency… definitely the fish was starving and would have not lasted long anyway…

      Cheers!

What a pity – I am sad to hear…. But that means that we take en extra one next season..

For the rest of you I can add a comment to the trip, that in my eyes are pretty funny.. One of the last things Lamberto says right before he hits the water “I don’t need any more trout, I need som torsk” – almost said in the tone of Gollum in english with an Italien accent… A little later – When I finally catch up with him, there is a 3,65 kg trout hanging from the stringer and a big smile on his face…. 🙂

If it gets any worse, I might ask help from some of you guys, to have a trout intevention with that man 🙂 – And with the newly added laser sight on his new gun, I really think it will be soon..

Nice catch buddy.. Looking forward to next time.

Wow! What a great looking HØ! There’s been tons of people this year catching mullet very very late in the season, but almost in the middle of November is indeed extremely late. I personally think it has something to do with the high temperatures of the summer and late summer this year that has confused the hell out of the mullets, but that’s just my own theory.

      Nice catch!

Mullet from inner Øresund in November! Yo! Most likely a fish which for various reasons (disease?) couldn’t make it back to the English Channel with the other guys……. Although the species is suppose to tolerate water temperature in the range from 4 to 37°C I assume it is not doing well when there is little green stuff to chew. My guess is that the fish – if it didn’t die of disease – would have starved to death (as you mentioned) before it would die due to a drop in temperature. But what do I know.

      Great catch!
Any chance you would be willing to share the location?
Maybe it’s just me, but i’m not able to decipher “The City” 🙂

      Thanks

Copenhagen: just out of Lynetten along the windmills onshore. Easy dive. The mullet was inside the bay between the gas station and the first rocky pier.

      Ciao!
